Refund Policy

A valid itemized cash register receipt must accompany all refund requests. Full refunds will be granted during the first two weeks of a semester, or during the first week of a summer For a full refund during the refund period, keep your receipt. semester.  Refund periods are posted in-store and also stapled to your receipt at time of book purchase.  Defective books will be exchanged during the refund period when accompanied by a valid receipt. We do not intend to sell damaged books, nor do we buy back damaged books.  Therefore, it's imperative that in the unlikely event you receive a damaged book that you exchange it during the refund period.  Books returned after the refund period, new books with markings, or opened "shrink wrapped" packages will be purchased at our normal buyback price. See our buyback policy below.

Buyback Policy

Books & More buys current textbooks everyday.  Even if you bought your books on-campus, you can still sell them at Books and More.  You do not need a receipt to sell your textbooks. You will need a student I.D. or a driver's license to sell books.  We do not buy books with any damage whatsoever.  We never buy books with water damage, loose pages or bad bindings.  We generally pay you about 50% of the selling price of the on-campus store.  You get the same, sometimes more, as on-campus but you don't have to wait in those long lines.  Certain books may be purchased for less or at a wholesale price. See our exceptions policy for additional information.

Policy Exceptions

Books sold with diskettes, cassettes, CDs, spiral bindings, perforated pages, study guides, solutions manuals with writing, "no class offered" or overstocked books will be purchased, if possible, at a reduced price or at a wholesale price.  Textbooks with excessive highlighting or notes will also be purchase at a reduced price.  Textbooks must be in a condition that would allow them to be resold.  If you wouldn't buy it, chances are we won't either.

The Bottom Line

Our policies typically follow the on-campus policies for textbook refunds, buyback, and exceptions.  Our goal is to give students the best possible price and service whether you are buying or selling books.

You can get a full refund for a reasonable time after your purchase.  During buyback, we try to buy as many of your books as we can that can be resold.  We do not buy damaged books because we want to protect other students from getting books that are damaged or unusable.

Our stores are built on rather simple ideas like price and value.  Our best ideas have often come from students.  We listen to your suggestions and implement them when possible. We try harder, because your business is important to us.

Posted Policies

Stated policies, written or verbal, are subject to change.  Written in-store policies always supercede advertisements, flyers, or web site postings.
